Celebrate July 4th With Organic Lemonade
and Save the Rain Forests!

This July 4th, beat the heat with a glass of organic lemonade and help eight-year-old Eastport resident Josalyn Bonney save the rain forests!

Last year, Josalyn's Lemonade Stand earned nearly $500 for Rain Forest Foundation US. Those proceeds were used to expand park land in Brazil by one acre.

primatebutterflyThis year, Whole Foods has donated over 300 lemons and a case of organic sugar to supply Josalyn's Lemonade Stand, and she will be serving organic lemonade on July 4th at the corner of First Street and Chesapeake Avenue in Eastport from 1 p.m.to about 5:30 p.m. (or until the lemonade runs out).

Come have some lemonade, support this little environmental champion and save the rain forests!

Save the Library!

Attention library patrons: the proposed county budget includes significant budget cuts to Anne Arundel County Public Libraries.  These funding cuts would result in the closure of all libraries on Sundays and the permanent closure of two branch locations.  The Eastport branch is one of those libraries which would likely be eliminated. Get more information and find out how you can help by going here: http://www.aacpl.net/about/websitebudget.pdf

Dispose of the Hazardous Materials Responsibly

Do you have hazardous waste, such as oil-based paints, staining agents, paint solvents, pesticides, household and automotive cleaners, oil and antifreeze contaminated with water or other products, pool chemicals, gasoline, kerosene and other fuels, thermometers, thermostats, fluorescent light tubes/bulbs, mercury vapor lamps, and asbestos? Anne Arundel County will accept these and similar materials for proper disposal. Read more...
